Lynx To Appear In National Geographic Series

Clayton, New York (April 6, 2011) – Sailing Seaway Clayton presented by Davidson Auto Group and Lake Ontario Realty announced today that tall ship Lynx, which will visit Clayton this coming June, will be featured in National Geographic’s Ben Franklin’s Pirate Fleet tonight at 10:00pm EST.

Ben Franklin’s Pirate Fleet highlights the belief that one of the nations early leaders, Ben Franklin, was behind the use of privateers, similar to that of Lynx. In addition to the role the ship plays in the piece, Captain Jamie Trost, who is expected to captain the ship into Clayton on June 14, also plays a key role in the feature.

“It is exciting to see Lynx in this National Geographic series,” said Michael Folsom, organizer of Sailing Seaway Clayton. “It will be more interesting however when the ship sails into town on June 14.”

Ben Franklin’s Pirate Fleet can be seen tonight on National Geographic at 10:00 p.m. EST.
